See our quote page for more details. The transit time (TT) for ocean shipping varies depending on several factors such as shipping route, shipping line, congestion at ports, distance of pickup and delivery locations from the ports, and so on. For instance, it takes typically 8-10 weeks to move a container from Edmonton, Canada to Tincan Port, Lagos. For the same route, we’ve also seen up to 16-18 weeks TT for various reasons (e.g., due to Covid-19, congestion at Lagos seaport, etc). See source

When deciding whether to use RoRo (Roll-On/Roll-Off) or containerized shipping, it’s important to consider the type and size of the cargo you are shipping.RoRo shipping is typically used for vehicles or machinery that can be driven or rolled onto the ship, such as cars, trucks, and heavy equipment. RoRo is ideal for large, heavy cargo that cannot fit inside a standard shipping container. It’s also a good option for cargo that needs to be loaded and unloaded quickly and efficiently.Containerized shipping is suitable for a wide variety of cargo, including general goods, dry and refrigerated goods, and oversized cargo. It is especially useful when shipping smaller items that can be packed into standard shipping containers. Containerized shipping is also a good option for cargo that requires protection from the elements or from theft, as containers can be sealed and locked for security.Ultimately, the decision to use RoRo or containerized shipping will depend on the nature and size of the cargo you are shipping, as well as your budget and time constraints.
