Does Awele do “Pickup” or the customer have to “Dropoff” the cargo to Awele’s warehouse for shipping ?

We do free pickup for small cargo across Edmonton(typically, less-than-pallet). For heavy or large volume items (typically from 50kg/100lbs or size of a pallet/skid), we charge pick up fees of $60 per pallet/skid

How do you ship cars?

Each of our cars are either loaded in a container (aka containerized) or driven directly into a vessel//ship(Roll-on Roll-off, a.k.a. RoRo)

I prefer drums than the moving boxes shown on your Awele’s website.

Awele accepts drums also, although we charge higher per unit for the drums compared to a smaller box due the weight and high handling cost of the drums. We plan to upload the drums options soon.

I have boxes (moving boxes) to put my items or does Awele take drums?

Because our prices depend on the size of your cargo, we encourage you to use any of the listed boxes/bags in our website so you don’t have to measure the size of your cargo.

What if I don’t use any of the cargo boxes/packages on your Website for my shipment?

If you choose to use boxes other than the ones listed, please measure the size of each of your boxes, select the “Custom” package option on our website and enter the measurements you obtained.

What package type/size do you recommend Awele customers use?

To avoid damages to your cargo due to weight, we strongly encourage you to use packages/boxes of 20kg

What factors determines Awele’s prices for shipping cargo?

Every shipment cost includes the cost of shipping and customs clearing. While shipping cost depends on the size and weight of your shipment, customs clearing cost depends on the value of your item.

As an ocean container freight, our rates for cargo depends on the size and weight of your shipment.

How long does a shipment take to reach Nigeria?

The transit time (TT) for ocean containers/freight varies depending on the time of the year, shipping line, geo politics and Government regulations. For instance, it takes typically 8-10 weeks to transport a container from Edmonton to Tincan Island Port, Lagos. However, between September 2020 – January 2021, we experienced 16-18 weeks TT due to Covid-19, congestion at Lagos seaport, and so on. See https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/12/07/apapa-gridlock-pushes-cargo-cost-to-nigeria-to-600m-monthly/

All Awele’s shared-container shipments from Edmonton to Tincan/Apapa Lagos seaport take typically 8-10 weeks, sailing from Vancouver seaport with Transhipment in Europe or Morocco. Due to congestion and Covid, some recent shipments in since November took up to 14-16 weeks from Edmonton to Tincan.
